LPG: ENERGY FOR THE EUROPEAN VILLAGE
Alongside the conference, the AEGPL exhibition will provide all delegates and visitors with the opportunity to see the latest products and services available in relation to the production, storage, transport, distribution, and installation of LPG.
The event began in the 1980s and is held in a different European City every year
The Romanian LPG market LPG consumption in the region has shown steady growth over the last 5 years, equivalent to a total increase of 115% or an equivalent annual growth rate of nearly 12%.
The European LPG market European energy consumption is growing at around 8% year on year and is set to accelerate after 2030. LPG’s share of total european energy consumption is expected to double by 2030.
BUCHAREST
The capital of Romania is also its industrial, cultural and financial centre. It is located in the southeast of the country and lies on the banks of the Dâmbiovita river. Romanian legend has it that the city of Bucharest was founded by a shepherd named Bucur whose name literally means “joy”.
In the period between the two World Wars, the city's wide, tree-lined boulevards, glorious Belle Époque buildings and the sophistication of its elite earned Bucharest the nickname of “Little Paris”.
In recent years, Romania's largest city has been experiencing an economic and cultural boom. It is today a bustling metropolis.
Bucharest is laden with historical charm - from the streets of the old city centre, which are slowly being restored, to the grand architecture of the Royal Palace and the fashionable garden and parks.
The city also claims a large number of museums featuring both classical and contemporary Romanian art, as well as selected international works, art galleries, Orthodox churches and unique architectural sites. Bucharest’s buzzing cultural scene will certainly keep you busy.
THE VENUE
Right in the historical and geographical centre of Bucharest overlooking Unirii Boulevard, stands the International Conference Center, Palace of the Romanian Parliament, which is, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, the world’s largest civilian administrative building.
Built in the mid ‘80s, his significant multi-purpose structure hosts today the Chamber of Deputies, the Constitutional Court and the Legislative Council, and has consequently become a symbol of the Romanian democracy.
Eclectic in style, it brings together elements of multiple styles: traditional Romanian architecture, Romanian popular ornamental art (such as the rosette), and also Renaissance, Germanic and Baroque influences.
Divided into 21 parts, the International Conference Center Parliament Palace is an overwhelming blend of monumental spaces, magnificent auditoriums, and generously sized halls and foyers, all of which will contribute to making the 2011 AEGPL Congress a unique and successful event!
