COTROCENI PALACE & ROMANIAN PEASANTS MUSEUM
The Cotroceni Palace located in the Cotroceni National Museum is a specialized institution reflecting the history of the Medieval and Modern Cotroceni. The church and monastery recount three centuries of history that interweaves political, military, diplomatic, religious and cultural aspects linked to the evolution of the Romanian society. The Romanian Peasant’s Museum, founded in 1990, is the expression of long-standing museum traditions dating from as early as 1875. The visit of the museum is followed by a short city tour during which the Opera House, the National Court, Unirii area, University area and Victoria Square will be seen.
NATIONAL ART MUSEUM & THE VILLAGE MUSEUM
The National Art Museum is the most representative art gallery in Romania and is hosted in the former Royal Palace. The Palace displays an extensive collection of European and Romanian Art.
The Village Museum shows authentic peasant housing from all over Romania, dating from the 17th to the beginning of the 20th century. This open-air museum is unique in Europe – the original buildings were disassembled piece by piece, transported in special conditions and reassembled inside the museum, offering the unique image of a real Romanian village, with its lanes, plantations, wells and open spaces.
